Terms & conditions.

last updated August 17th, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of this website and the services provided by Mei Skin ("Mei Skin," "we," "us," or "our"), a sole proprietorship based in Vancouver, British Columbia. By booking an appointment or using this website, you ("you" or "the client") agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Booking and Appointments

Appointments are requested by email, the website, or Instagram and confirmed directly by Mei Skin. A requested time is not held or guaranteed until confirmation has been provided.

1.1 Cancellations and Rescheduling. Clients are asked to provide at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the appointment will be charged 50% of the price of the booked service. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of the appointment will be charged 100% of the price of the booked service. As each appointment reserves a single treatment room, a late cancellation results in an unfilled appointment slot.

1.2 Late Arrival. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate late arrivals; however, a late start may result in a shortened treatment in order to avoid delaying subsequent appointments.

1.3 No-Shows. A missed appointment without prior notice will be charged in full.

2. Age Requirement

Our services are intended for adults. Clients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by, and have treatment consented to by, a parent or legal guardian.

3. Treatments and Results

The services offered by Mei Skin are esthetic skin treatments. They do not constitute medical care, and nothing communicated in the studio or on this website should be construed as a medical diagnosis or medical advice. Clients with concerns regarding their skin should consult a physician or dermatologist.

Prior to a first visit, clients are required to disclose:

Skin conditions, allergies, or recent adverse reactions;
Medications and active skincare ingredients in use, including retinoids, acids, and isotretinoin (Accutane);
Recent treatments, injectables, or cosmetic procedures; and
Pregnancy or breastfeeding status.

Certain treatments may not be appropriate, or may be contraindicated, under these circumstances. Mei Skin reserves the right to conduct a patch test, modify a treatment, or decline to provide a treatment where doing so is necessary for the client's safety. This determination is made at the sole discretion of Mei Skin and is considered part of the service provided.

Skin response varies between individuals and between visits. No specific outcome or result is guaranteed.

4. Assumption of Risk

As with any skin treatment, there exists a possibility of reaction, irritation, or an outcome that differs from what was anticipated, notwithstanding the exercise of reasonable care and adherence to provided guidance. By booking an appointment, the client acknowledges and accepts this risk as inherent to the treatment provided.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability for any claim arising from a treatment or from use of this website is limited to the amount paid for the service giving rise to the claim. Mei Skin is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of time or income. Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for gross negligence, or any right that cannot be waived by agreement under British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.

6. Client Responsibility

Clients are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the health and skin information provided to Mei Skin, and for following any pre- or post-treatment guidance given. Clients with questions regarding the suitability of a treatment should raise them prior to booking.

7. Photography

Mei Skin may take before-and-after or in-studio photographs for treatment record-keeping purposes. Such photographs remain private and are not used publicly unless the client provides separate written consent for their use on the Mei Skin website or social media accounts.

8. Pricing and Payment

Prices listed on the service menu are final; no additional charges are applied at the time of service.

Payment is due at the time of the appointment. Prices are subject to change; however, the price quoted at the time of booking will be honoured for that appointment.

9. Gift Cards

Gift cards are available with a minimum amount of $25.00 CAD and a maximum amount of $1000.00 CAD, and may be issued electronically. Gift cards do not expire, are non-refundable, and may not be redeemed for cash.

10. Website Content

All text, photographs, and design elements on this website are the property of Mei Skin. Reproduction or use of this content without prior written permission is prohibited.

While reasonable efforts are made to keep the content of this website accurate and current, the website is provided on an "as is" basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

11. Privacy

The collection, use, and disclosure of personal information is governed by our separate Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from services provided will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

14. Changes to These Terms
